Stoicism for Product Teams… It’s the Lasso Way

When you look up the word stoic in the dictionary, you get a definition along the lines of: “A person who can endure pain or hardship without showing their feelings or complaining.” This is a gross misrepresentation of Stoic philosophy. But it has its roots in a core, if misunderstood, tenant of Stoicism… the indifferents.

An indifferent is anything that is out of your immediate control: health, pleasure, pain, winning, wealth. The Stoic, as Marcus Aurelius wrote, should not focus on these external things.
